Day.....

So I weighed this am...and gained .2 lbs.....yes gained.....again. So I decided to discontinue the drops. I can't do apple days all the time to lose weight, and I haven't been feeling great while taking them. PLUS...I had a health screening this am and the nurse said that my glucose levels were very low and that I needed to eat...so now my plan is to exercise and just get in a routine of healthy eating and just an overall healthier life! I plan on weighing in once a month to monitor my progress, but I don't want to become obsessed with my weight. It's not an important since I'm not on the HCG drops anymore.

So we will see how it all goes...I will still continue to post however.

Day 12

Day 11

Weight 125.4

Lost .4 lbs....wish it was alot more, but at least I didn't gain today!

For today though...I am going to do an apple day....

All day I felt awful.....Energy was low, felt like my blood sugar was low, terrible headache all day, that got REALLY bad at night. ugh...better be worth it

Day 10

Day 10 Weight 125.8

Yes I gained weight..... :(

Sunday, September 5, 2010

Day 9

Well...today was...no good

Since I didn't lose any weight and actually gained weight..I thought I would do a steak day...bad idea, especially when you are going to the Texas Tech Football game in 100 degree heat and have to walk forever to get to the stadium, so to say the least I ended up cheating, and ate a buffalo chicken sandwich. I figured it was a better option than passing out. I really wanted to quit this diet, but after tears and talking to my husband, he pointed out that he thought I would be disappointed in myself if I quit...which he was right about.

So thankfully I have a husband who will point that out.

I have been feeling super emotional lately though, which makes this really hard...ugh. I'm just so ready to lose this stupid weight that I gained, and ready to maintain it off. Hopefully this won't set me back too much. Trying to be optimistic :)

Day 8

Day 8 Weight 124.6

Didn't loose, but it was probally due to that stupid tortilla

11:00 Drops

2:00 Shrimp with TBSP salsa, 5 strawberries with stevia, 1 grisini

8:00 ground beef, zucchini, 1 Grisini

So I realized I have not been putting down all my drops times, I am taking them 3 days a day, I just keep forgetting to write the time down, and I have been getting all of my 64 oz of water in per day!

Day 7

Day 7 Weight 124.6

8:15 Drops

11:00 Baked apple with stevia and cinnamon

1:15 Ground beef with salsa, tomatoe

10:00 brisket with pico in tortilla (NOT ok to eat)

Thursday, September 2, 2010

Day 6

Weight this am was...125.4, which means I'm down exactly 5 pounds!

8:30 Drops

11:30 Grisini bread stick

1:00 "Chowder"....this was not amazing and I would not make again, however it was feeling, I only made it half way through...it has a can of diced tomatoes, herbs, tilapia, it makes 2 servings of protein and your vegetable. I only made it through due to taste and the fact that it filled me up...

6:00 Drops (probably should have taken them earlier...)

8:00 Ground beef with TBSP of salsa, baked apple with Stevia and cinnamon, leftover cucumbers in vinegar from yesturday

9:00 Drops

I did eat more than 3.5 oz of the ground beef at dinner because I didn't get in all my protein at lunch, so hopefully that will be ok

AND...while looking for recipes that I can use on this diet I came across Miracle Noodles. Alot of people where talking about eating these on the diet...so I'm looking into them. Plus I wanted to see if mayeb one of the Asian markets in town has them..

Day 5

Weight as of Day 5...126.2! That means I'm down 4.2 pounds total

Bad news...I woke up this morning feeling TERRIBLE! Like...get sick terrible. So I ended up taking medicine and going back to sleep. SO...I didn't get my first drops until 11:00, so hopefully that won't mess anything up.

Since I woke up so late, I didn't eat my lunch until 3:15 which was ground beef with a TBSP of salsa, baked an apple with water in the bottom of the pan, mixed cinnamon and stevia and put in the middle of the apple, baked at 350 degrees for 25 min. It was delicious! I came sooo class to cheating, because I wanted something sweet SO bad, so that apple was my saving grace, plus...I don't want to NOT lose or gain.

Dinner wasnt until 8:00ish, which was ground beef with salsa again, and cucumbers with vinegar, salt, pepper, and garlic. I've been SO hungry at night, so I thought I might try to eat later ( I stay up late, so hopefully it will be ok)

So hopefully with the late start and late meals, I won't mess anything up, and will still have lost when I weigh in the am!! We will see :(

P.S. I found this site HCG Diet Recipes that has a ton of great ideas on it! With this, you must be creative! As it turns out, you alot more options than I ever thought, which is great!

Day 4

Day 4

Weight: 128.2! I can't believe this is actually working so fast!

11:00 Apple
1:00 Tilapia with McCormicks seasoning, baked over salad with balsamic vinegar
6:00 Freebirds salad with chicken, pico, and salsa

TONS of coffee, tea, and water

Tuesday, August 31, 2010

Day 3

Weight of Day 3.....130. So I lost what I gained!

8:00 Drops

Water, Coffee

11:00 Apple

1:00 Salad with Chicken seasoned with McCormicks Red Chili and Garlic

4:00 Apple

6:30 Tilapia and half of a squash

I got all the water I'm suppose to have....half of my body weight in ounces, and I drank alot of tea and coffee. Not too bad. I didn't feel hungry until last night

Super excited to keep things moving!

Day 1 & 2

So day one and two of the HCG drops are a load day. You eat whatever you want, while taking the drops. So yesterday was day one. I weighed in at 130.4 yesterday morning, which was less than I thought I weighed, so that was nice. I took the drops 3 times a day. Then this morning I weighed in at 131.8. I gained, but that is normal within the first days. So...I'm ready for this to really start tomorrow! Headed to the grocery store to get all the essentials for my new way of eating for the next 21 days!

HCG

So....as of tomorrow I am starting HCG drops. Check out Skinny Drops that is where I get info and my drops from!

I'm super excited about getting started. I took my before pictures today...which I will NOT be posting until much further along in this because, well...I'm super embarrassed by them. It's sad. :( BUT...I will not look like that for long! Tomorrow will start day one, which is my loading day! I'm going to post on here what I'm eating and all that fun stuff. I figured it might help me keep accountable a little more, if I think someone might read what I'm eating, and know if I cheated on my diet!

I've never really been a "fad" dieter, but I know people that this has worked for, so that is why I'm trying it. I'm ready for a healthier life! That is one thing I reaalllly liked about this, is that it has a maintenance plan, and afterwards you bring in regular exercise. There are many reasons I want to do this. One..I want to look better, in and out of clothes. I want to be healthy for me, my husband, and my future kids. I think that I need to take care of the body that God has given me, and I don't think I've done a good job of that the last few years. So here we are, about to start over! It also helps because I have a great support system...my husband! Can't wait!

Haiti

I have really been working on trying to keep more "in the loop" with the current goings on around the world and in the US. Tonight I thought it was way past time to catch up on everything in Haiti. Talk about heart wrenching. This slide show on Fox News' website, is amazing.  I can't imagine dealing with all of that, wow. The heart break, and hopelessness that the photographer captures is amazing. Look at these pictures and then put things in perspective....

Fantastic Things

SO... the picture a day thing...hasn't really worked out so well. I love taking pictures, and when I do, I'm sure it makes up for lost time. Instead I've been super busy. Work....School started again, and trying to get a consistent workout schedule going. Oh my gosh have I missed working out. It's so fantastic! Sweating, your legs feeling like they are going to collapse under neath you. Your abs hurting so bad you think you are going to throw up...how much better can it get...especially when I think of once I get all skinny and toned again and can fit into jeans from 3+ years ago! oh the joy!

so instead of daily picture taking, I have decided to start tracking my doings everyday. I made a fantastic Excel spreadsheet, (I have an obsession with spreadsheet making) and am documenting what I am doing, the task, the start and end time, I have a column that then figures out how much time was spent on that activity. Maybe this way I can be more productive, and realize what stupid pointless things I spend my time on. Plus, I have people I'm sending it to. No one wants to admit that they facebook stalked for 2 hours.... :)

Old Friends!

So today, I got to see one of my friends that is in the United States from Germany. She was a foreign exchange student at my high school my Junior year. I have not seen her in six years, and got to see her tonight, along with one of my past good friends from high school! It's crazy to see how things change in 6 years, what has and has not changed about certain people. Fun stuff....

Banana Bread Recipe

So I found this awesome banana bread recipe that I thought I would share:

Moist Banana Bread Recipe

This moist banana bread recipe helps put overripe bananas, that would otherwise be destined for the garbage, to good use, making it a great recipe for anyone who likes to be frugal.

The key to good quick breads is not overmixing the batter. Once the liquid ingredients are added to the dry, mix the batter by hand just until the flour is moistened, for no more than about ten seconds. Too much mixing can cause the final product to be dry, tough or misshapen.

Prep Time: 15 minutes

Cook Time: 50 minutes

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup walnuts, roughly chopped
  • 1¾ cup all-purpose flour
  • ¾ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • ½ tsp baking soda
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ½ tsp ground cinnamon
  • 3 large, very ripe bananas
  • 1 tsp pure vanilla extract
  • 2 eggs
  • ½ cup butter or shortening

Preparation:

  1. Preheat oven to 375° F.
  2. Spread the walnuts out on a flat baking pan or sheet pan and roast them in the oven for 5-6 minutes. Midway through, toss them around on the pan so that the tops and bottoms brown evenly. When they're done, remove the pan from the oven and then remove the toasted nuts from the hot pan and set them aside to cool.
  3. Combine the flour, baking powder, baking soda, sugar, salt and cinnamon.

IMPORTANT: Make sure the walnuts are thoroughly cooled before adding them to the dry ingredients, as the heat would activate the baking powder too early.
  4. Unwrap the butter and heat it in the microwave, in a microwave-safe bowl, for about a minute, until it's thoroughly melted. Set it aside at room temperature to cool, but don't let it solidify again.
  5. Peel the bananas. Using a potato masher, mash the bananas in a separate mixing bowl.
  6. Add the vanilla extract to the mashed bananas.
  7. Beat the eggs in a separate bowl and then add the beaten egg to the banana-vanilla mixture.
  8. Thoroughly grease and flour a 9" × 5" × 3" baking pan (or use a nonstick baking pan or a flexible silicone pan).
  9. Pour a tiny bit of the melted butter into the egg-banana-vanilla mixture and stir it in. Repeat 3-4 more times, adding a slightly larger amount of the liquid butter each time until it is all incorporated.

IMPORTANT: Don't add hot melted butter to the egg-banana mixture as the heat from the butter would cook the egg, and that's not what you want to do!
  10. Add the liquid ingredients to the dry ones and mix no more than ten seconds. The batter will be visibly lumpy. That's OK! It's extremely important not to overmix the batter, or the resulting bread will be too hard.
  11. Once the liquid and dry ingredients have been combined, gently pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and bake immediately.

TIP: The dry and wet ingredients, respectively, can be mixed in advance, but as soon as the wet and dry ingredients have been combined with each other, the liquid will activate the baking powder and the batter must be baked right away.
  12. Bake 50 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the loaf comes out clean and the edge of the bread starts to separate from the pan.
  13. Once the pan is cool enough to touch, carefully invert the pan — the loaf should drop right out, so make sure you support it with your other hand. Let the loaf cool on a wire rack at room temperature.
Makes one 9" × 5" × 3" loaf.

DIY

So I've REALLy gotten into looking at DIY blogs and websites.... and this one http://www.younghouselove.com/ is for sure my favorite!!

I'm currently working on my husband and I's lower bathroom in our house, I really need to post some pictures. The house that we bought almost 2 years ago now, was an estate sale, and the lady that lived in it before us had an obsession with blue, paneling, and ugly wallpaper...so it's been an interesting updating process throughout the past 2 years. Fun though, especially now since I have found so many other people with awesome DIY post and ideas!!
